EVOC
INSTRUCTOR: JASON LIVELY
This is
a combination course with classroom and practical training
on emergency vehicle driving. Safety, legal aspects,
inspection, and driver responsibilities are covered. Both
written and practical exams are administered. Students are
encouraged to bring own apparatus for driving part of
course. Class Limit 25

NIMS 300
INSTRUCTOR: DARIN HAMILTON
Describe
how the NIMS Command and Management component supports the
management of expanding incidents. Describe the
incident/event management process for expanding incidents
and supervisors as prescribed by the Incident Command
System. Implement the incident management process on a
simulated Type 3 incident. Develop an Incident Action Plan
for a simulated incident. Class Limit 25

NIMS 400
INSTRUCTOR: BOB FOWLER
This
course expands upon the material covered in
ICS 100 through
ICS 300. ICS 400 focuses on large
single-agency and complex multi-agency/multi-jurisdictional
incident response. The course addresses area command and
staff issues, as well as the planning, logistical and fiscal
considerations associated with complex incident management
and interagency coordination. Class Limit 25

ENGINE COMPANY OPERATIONS
INSTRUCTOR: RODNEY STRAIGHT
This
course provides instruction in the duties and
responsibilities of an engine company. Topics include:
positioning of apparatus, use of attack and back-up lines,
search and rescue, and water supply. Class Limit 25
6.
HAZ-MAT AWARENESS/OPERATIONS
INSTRUCTOR: SKIP KOSAR
This
course provides students with an understanding of the ways
to confine, contain, or divert a hazardous materials release
using defensive methods, such as damming, diking, and
diverting. The student will have the opportunity for
hands-on experience in building different types of
containment systems and setting up decontamination areas.

7.
CONFINED SPACE RESCUE
INSTRUCTOR: STEVE ROGERS
Students
will learn a plan of operations, tolls, manpower and
manipulation skills required to perform safe removal of
victims from limited space confinement. Emphasis is placed
on safety and the psychological effects of confined space
rescue. Students will participate in team rescue scenarios.
Students must have
successfully completed Rope Rescue Awareness/Operations

The training
provides a responder with knowledge to safely secure a bus
and immediate area, gain entry into the bus, locate and
identify bus components and emergency features and to be

EXPLOSIVE RECOGNITION
INSTRUCTOR: MIKE FORDYCE
This
course serves as an introduction to the hazards of explosive
terrorist devices, recognition of different types of
explosive devices, common terminology and hazards to
personnel. This class includes detonation of a device. Class
Limit 25

This course will
provide students with the ability to properly extinguish
vehicle fires.

SCENE PRESERVATION & EVIDENCE COLLECTION
INSTRUCTOR: TONY DONINGO
Outlines
basic procedures for fire scene documentation and evidence
collection.
Specific
areas discussed include establishing the role of first
responders, evaluating the scene, documenting the scene,
processing evidence at the scene, and completing the scene
investigation. Class Limit 25

MCI 1 & 2
INSTRUCTOR: CARLA Mc BEE
Operational procedures determine the efficiency of treatment
of patients in terms of
speed,
resource commitment, and outcome. Normal patient care
procedures for a single patient incident are relatively
inefficient in terms of speed and resource commitment. If
these same procedures are used in a mass casualty event,
they result in unacceptably long times to clear all patients
from the scene. Class Limit 25

This
course will provide first responders with the knowledge to
protect a scene and personnel from the hazards of road site

14.
MANAGING THE LOST PERSON INCIDENT
INSTRUCTOR: TIM ARTHUR
This
Course will discuss the basic principles for managing a lost
person incident and will be geared primarily to command
staff with no previous SAR training, but is appropriate for
anyone with interest in search and rescue. Topics of
discussion include available resources, search operations
and tactics, lost person behavior, documentation and
paperwork, and search theory. Class Limit 25

2009 until day of school: $60.00 two-day classes and $30.00

Registration will be 7:30 am both
Saturday and Sunday. Orientation will be at 8:30 am Saturday
and Classes will begin at 9 am.
